Thought for the Week

It is said that freedom in the US is based upon three boxes: the ballot box, the jury box, and the ammo box. The actions of the Federal Government against the people and the States on such issues as marriage and abortion (e.g. Planned Parenthood) increasingly indicate that the Federal Government no longer recognizes the people’s use of the ballot box or the jury box. Those protections are failing fast. It is also obvious the Federal Government is trying very hard to eliminate the ammo box as an option to prevent its increased implementation and use of tyranny over the people.

As morality crumbles and tyranny increases the issues concerning the use of force to protect oneself from the government are becoming a more common topic. At the purely secular level the use of violence to protect oneself against violence has always been a recognized right by a free people; and, against tyrants even preemptive acts have been considered both a right and a duty. As the US increasingly becomes tyrannical the use of force against such tyranny may be the only option left. Since the US is also increasingly persecuting Christians the use of force by the children of YHWH needs to be addressed.

A slap on the cheek, which Jesus refers to in Matthew 5:39 and Luke 6:29, is not an assault on a person’s life but it was and still is considered an insult to a person’s honor. Jesus was making it clear that violence was not to be used to defend our own pride. The use of force for protection of life is a different matter and I will write a more in depth article in the near future. For now suffice it to say that the children of YHWH are indeed authorized to use force for self-protection and for the protection of others. I do not make such a statement lightly, nor should any person that tries to teach or lead among the children of YHWH, knowing that those who would lead are held to a higher standard of accountability:

My brothers do not be many teachers, but know that we will receive a greater judgment.

(James 3:1)

So I ask that my readers consider that there is an often overlooked aspect of self-defense and it is one that we should each individually always bear in mind.

          YHWH spelled out very clearly why David could not build YHWH’s temple:

But God said to me, You shall not build a house to My name, for you are a man of battles, and you have shed blood.

(1 Chronicles 28:3)

But the Word of YAHWEH was against me, saying, You have shed blood in abundance, and you have made great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, for you have shed much blood to the earth before Me.

(1 Chronicles 22:8)

Human life is very, very precious to YHWH. Taking a person’s life has consequences even when permitted or commanded by YHWH. Even accidentally causing the death another person has consequences - hence the system of Cities of Refuge (e.g. Numbers 35:11).

          Yes, we are permitted to take life to defend life; but, we will still answer for it if we do. The children of YHWH escape the second death. We do not escape judgment.

 

NOTE: Have you ever heard the expression, “do not mistake my kindness for weakness”? There are many stratagems against oppression even when killing is a last resort. You can weaken the opposition’s ability to oppress (e.g. thru the destruction of transportation and communication networks, etc). You can weaken the oppositions will to oppress by making the price too high (e.g. deprive them of comfort and safety). And, most of all, if they cannot find you they cannot stop you from spreading the Gospel.

Comment: I would differ with Humphrey on a simple point by changing “not supported” to “not permitted”. The sheeple simply surrender to the will of the tyrant and forego justice. The children of YHWH surrender only to the will of YHWH and proclaim His justice.

15-year-olds attending U.S. public schools no longer rank in the top half in math or science among industrialized nations. COMMENT: I wonder if “they” rate English language proficiency. I would not be surprised if the average 15 year old German could not read and write in English better than most 15 year old Americans; but, all is not lost since we would probably rank high in Spanish language proficiency (as nations go the US is now ranked as having the second largest Spanish speaking population).

I can't help noticing that Gospel tracts feature mostly the letters of Paul with quotes from the old Testament and perhaps one from the Gospel of John; nothing from Mathew Mark or Luke. Why? seems to me that the Gospel according to Paul is being offered in stead of the Gospel according to Jesus. Good to find this website!

          Thank you for the feedback. You pose a very valid question and one I have struggled with. At one point I was going to delete the entire page but have hesitated.  Instead I continued to search for tracts that do not contain the words of Paul and have yet to find them. I decided, so far, to leave the page as was until I could either find better tracts or make them myself. If anyone knows of appropriate tracts that I can post for free please let me know. Should I delete the page until I find what is needed? Your feedback is appreciated. Email: feedback at thepathtolight dot com. If a tract is needed asap to cover a particular topic let me know and I will try to get it done.  Also, is there any interest in a forum here on this website?

Right vs Might

Thought for the Week

If there is no God there are no God given rights. Aside from man, do any animals grant rights to other animals? In Nature there is no right to shelter or food. The strong take what they want and the weak accept whatever is left. In nature it is kill or be killed for most. Those that do not kill to live learn to run and/or hide - every minute of every day for their entire lives.

Without a Creator “might makes right”, and the golden rule becomes “he who has the gold makes the rules”. Without a Creator all laws are based upon one law, the “law of the jungle”. All governments, no matter how benign, rule by threat of force. No animal uses prisons the way man does. Did YHWH ever decree a prison sentence for a crime?

Governments and bodies of laws are “social contracts”: Contracts which we are born under without, in most cases today, the ability to reject the contract. This is not unique to such countries as the USSR. Even the US refuses to allow many people to leave by refusing to issue a passport. Get caught trying to illegally enter and you may get educated, housed and fed for free. Try to escape and get caught and you will go straight to prison. Governments hate “lone wolves” from their own pack. They want herd animals - sheeple. The Government demands it be the alpha.

If there is no Creator then the ultimate power resides in the government. Is it any wonder governments either claim God does not exist or that they are acting with His approval? But YHWH does exist and it is to Him only that we owe allegiance. The false apostle Paul revealed his true colors when he claimed we do not need to obey the laws of YHWH but only the laws of man. The children of YHWH are under an obligation to do just the opposite. The midwives of Exodus 1:17 obeyed YHWH rather than king of Egypt (pharaoh). So too did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego ignore the king in Daniel 3:12. In Acts 4:19 Peter and John ignored the threats of the Sanhedrin and later again reminded us in Acts 5:29 that YHWH must be obeyed rather than men. (Note that when the false apostle Paul was threatened by the Sanhedrin he appealed not to YHWH for protection but to the Romans!)

Few folks understand the true meaning behind Jesus’ statement regarding rendering to Caesar that which is Caesar’s. At that time, under Jewish custom, the coinage used acknowledged who the Jews accepted as the “ruler” of the country. Jesus had been asked if the Jews should pay tribute to Caesar. He replied by asking who’s image was on the coin. They knew what that meant. When Jesus said to render to Caesar that which is Caesar’s he was not telling us we must obey government officials. He was reminding the Jews that they had already submitted to Roman rule and were suffering the consequences (SEE NOTE). If Caesar wanted “his” money back then they should give it to him. He then reiterated the need to render to God that which is God’s because the Jews were more submissive to Rome than they were to YHWH. In addition to the failures Jesus pointed out in the verse above the Jews later even declared that they had no king but Caesar (John 19:15). This is a key reason for Jesus’ comment about trying to serving two masters (Matthew 6:24)! In their zeal for Rome they omitted not just Jesus but YHWH as well!

When people allow their government to ignore YHWH’s laws without fighting back they are implicitly accepting a “social contract” which shows they accept Government authority over YHWH’s authority. That is why YHWH punishes entire nations and not just individuals.

Man is not just another animal; and, no earthly Government is the supreme authority. Will you stand up for YHWH and suffer the earthly consequences now or will you remain a sheeple and pay for it with your very soul.

NOTE: One of the first things the Jews did in the Jewish Revolt (War of 66-73) was to mint their own coins to show who ruled. (Reference Tacitus’ Histories)

Comment: Most Americans disappointed with the direction the US is heading are so apathetic that few even voice their discontent much less act to eliminate it. If you are not part of the solution then you are a part of the problem - and will pay accordingly.

The Barna Group conducted a study by testing professing Christians about their worldview. Only 9% of those who professed to be born-again believers also professed a biblical worldview. COMMENT: Many are called but few chosen. Will you be chosen?

US law enforcement, under pressure for employing deadly Gestapo tactics when serving warrants, is increasingly using a physically safer method called delayed notification warrants (AKA sneak and peek). COMMENT: This means they can “legally” wait until you leave home and then break in and trash the place to make it look like it was a burglar that tore up the place; or, they may be so careful you would never know they were there. They are “required” to inform the victim they were there within 90 days but in one documented case they waited 455 days! They can do the same to your car. In one documented case they actually stole the car - even leaving broken glass in the parking lot to misleading the victim! PS - US law enforcement is truly multicultural by using tactics from the Gestapo, the KGB, etc! But I guess delayed notification is better than a gestapo raid - then they might “legally” kill you. Americans used to fight, kill, and die for their rights. Now the only right they do this for is the “right” not to be pregnant!

As of 2013 there were just over 1 million sworn law enforcement officers in the US. US Law Enforcement averages killing over 1000 American each year (that is 1 murder by cop for every 1000 officers). Alabama (one of the few States that are standing up to the LGBT mafia) had about 5 million people in 2013 - and only 2 killings by criminals (that is 1 murder by crook for every 2.5 million people). COMMENT: Nationwide if you are robbed it is most likely a crook not a cop; but, you are more likely to be killed or sexually assaulted by a cop than a crook! Our greatest danger comes not from crime but from “the justice system”!

 

Joke for the Week?: In an effort to remove the stigma of prisons being a hot bed for forced sodomy officials from the Bureau of Prisons are joining the LGBT in trying to declare sodomy a Constitutional right irrevocable even for felons.

Protect and Defend

Verse of the Week

Then he said to them, but now, the one having a purse, let him take it; likewise also a wallet; and, the one not having, let him sell his garment, and let him buy a sword.

                  (Luke 22:36)

Thought for the Week

          Folks have historically jumped thru hoops trying to explain the above verse. Some will say Jesus was speaking literally about everything except the sword. Some say the sword is a spiritual reference only. Some say he did not mean it. Some say it must have been added later. But, a rare few actually believe he meant exactly what he said. The key is the context.

          Those that are against accepting it at face value often cite Jesus’ rebuke of Peter’s use of a sword. Yet they ignore that Jesus qualified the use of restraint for a reason - Jesus must suffer to fulfill the Scriptures. Some will cite the command to love your enemies for rejecting the above verse at face value. They ignore the difference between an enemy and a common criminal. First, it is obvious Jesus did not forbid his disciples being armed; and, second, YHWH has always sanctioned the use of violence in the fulfillment of justice (e.g. stoning).

          In context the Apostles are told that the two swords they have are sufficient. Would not two armed men be ample to protect the group from the average mugger? Yet two armed men untrained in warfare would stand no chance at all against an enemy (e.g. a trained Roman soldier). We are commanded not to murder. We are not told not to kill in self-defense. (SEE NOTE)

          Did Jesus rebuke the Roman Centurion for his profession? No, in fact he complimented the man’s faith. YHWH is the same yesterday and forever: The “God” of the Original Testament is the same “God” of the New Testament. There is no contradiction. It is not His instructions that are lacking; it is man’s inability to understand. Understanding requires spiritual reasoning taught by the Holy Spirit. The spiritual cannot be ascertained by physical reasoning.

Violence to fulfill His will is permissible. Violence for any other reason is not. We know from His instructions that it is not His will that any be forced to worship Him (a prime indicator that Muslims and Catholics are not the children of YHWH). We know from His instructions war for conquest is not allowed unless He specifically orders it; but, that warfare is permitted by His people in self-defense. Love your enemy requires that you do not invade him and try to dominate him.  It does not require you to kneel to Satan minions. Did not Jesus use his gifts from the Holy Spirit to evade capture “until all be fulfilled”? Did not the Apostles use deception to evade persecution so they could spread the Gospel?

Does this era end by YHWH just zapping Satan and his ilk into oblivion? No, it ends in a violent battle - those who worship YHWH against those who do not. Until that day the worshippers of YHWH have a duty to continue spreading the Gospel - even if that means we must do so clandestinely. We cannot murder the tyrant but we must try to subvert his efforts. We cannot launch preemptive attacks but we can defend ourselves.

Muslims accuse the US of being “The Great Satan”. It is fast becoming a tool of Satan as it increasingly persecutes YHWH’s followers and enforces immorality upon its own citizens. It even uses its economic power to try to enforce immorality on other countries (e.g. acceptance of homosexuality). America is falling because it increasingly serves Satan instead of YHWH. Are you prepared to serve YHWH even as persecution increases? How will you do so?

NOTE: Jesus taught to give to him that asks, he did not teach to surrender to thieves. Jesus used strength and being armed as defense against thieves (e.g. Mark 3:27, Luke 11:21, etc). In point of fact under Noahide law we are required to administer criminal and civil justice.

Comment: The problems cited for Roman society are a perfect parallel for what we see in the US today. The only thing left is the downfall itself - the crumbling is already well underway. Are you prepared?

The US FDA is considering making it legal for doctors to make “three parent babies”. COMMENT: Ever wondered who is really behind the Governments continued funding for Planned Parenthood? If so read the history of eugenics and socialism. The end goal of socialism is a society ruled by Patricians (elites) and served by Plebs (commoners); but, the Plebs must not have any personal values - i.e. the old fashioned American value of freedom, the biblical value of morality, etc.

 

The number of sexual assaults in the U.S. military is at an all-time high with the majority of them being male on male. COMMENT: The Pentagons solution appears to be relieving sexual tension among the troops by providing more transgender personnel.

 

The original motto of Harvard University was Veritas Christo et Ecclesiae (Latin for "Truth for Christ and the Church") which was appropriate since Harvard is named after a minister who donated a large sum of money to create an educational institute to train Christian ministers. Now the motto is just Veritas. COMMENT: Now instead of ministers the focus is to train left wing lawyers and politicians. Most of them, it seems, are not satisfied with just removing Christ and the church from their alma mater: It seems they are intent on removing Christ and the church from all of American society.

The Church and the Heart

Thought for the Week

There is an overabundance of mega-churches in the US that teach becoming a Christian is like going to work for a corporation that will make you rich. There is also an abundance of mega-churches that teach Christianity as the program to achieve ultimate personal growth (self-esteem). How many groups or individuals do you know that teach the purpose of being a Christian is service to YHWH?

What is the focus of the recruitment methods employed by most of the larger churches today? We see them promising personal earthly wealth, promising increased personal self-esteem as judged by worldly standards, employing peer pressure, using the latest fads, etc. We find almost every “sales” tactic known. Where is the call to love and obey your Creator YHWH?

We see “church leaders” using money given for YHWH’s work to buy luxurious executive jets! How different the disciples that followed Jesus in the beginning! We see “churches” today that more resemble resorts with a conference hall. How different the humble homes and fields used by Jesus and his original disciples. Heaven has no “church building” in it - (Revelation 21:22). Earth cannot have a “church building” to hold YHWH (Isaiah 66:1). Magnificent buildings filled with malignant hearts?

Have you heard of the terms “tentmaking” or “tunneling”? The terms represent a missionary method employed throughout much of the world.  Disciples who, like the originals, work to pay their own way - while they minister to others as well! Sadly even on this issue “Christians” debate about what really “qualifies” one as a tentmaker with many arguing that you must travel outside the US to be a tentmaker. I suppose it scares them to think of losing their jet set perks, of being expected to act as men of God rather than as CEO’s of a corporation. Of course today many claim they earn their own way by being authors. These charlatans are not satisfied being paid to preach - they add insult to injury by selling their sermons and His words primarily to enrich themselves (SEE NOTE). The US does have some “domestic tentmakers” but they are few and far between.

The US decline in the number of churches and the dropping of church attendance is for two primary reasons. One regards quantity - the obvious decline in morals and the accompanying decline in people of faith. The second regards quality and is less obvious - people of faith are leaving too. It is because of an increase in faith and knowledge by those who truly worship YHWH. Few if any churches today reflect true worship of YHWH and instead many resemble the “den of thieves” of which Jesus spoke.

True men of YHWH trust Him and do not squander alms to pay for bodyguards, lavish estates, jets, pope-mobiles, etc! To those who would lead: Jesus commanded, “Feed my sheep”, not fleece my sheep! All of us are told to “count the cost”, not to act like union members whining and pining for more pay and benefits.

          Many churches today falsely teach that we are not “under the law”; but, they sure preach a lot about tithing! And like most salesmen they prefer to see your cash up front. Which do you think YHWH wants most from you? - Your money or your time?

NOTE: There are exceptions: Although I do not agree with much of what Rick Meyers preaches I salute him for the hard work and dedication he and his helpers put into making e-sword, making it so easily available,  and making it free!

Comment: It does not take a genius to see that the US is fast becoming “within a yard of hell”. Many await the return of YHWH’s messiah Jesus. How many are prepared to face a life “within a yard of hell” if that glorious day comes decades from now?

The US State Department again designated North Korea as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)” for the country’s persecution of religion.  The State Department report stated, “Although the DPRK guarantees freedom of religion, there is no such thing in reality.”COMMENT: I wonder if the State Department realizes the US is now a CPC for the same reason!

In the US more than 4000 churches close their doors every year - compared to just over 1000 new church starts! COMMENT: Yet congregations still focus on structural building improvements/expansions or sending missionaries overseas.

In the US at the turn of the century in 1900 there was a ratio of 27 churches per 10,000 people.  At the turn of the last century (2000) the ratio was 11 churches per 10,000 people.

China and India lead in the number of citizens who are not “professing Christians”. The United States ranks third (3^rd)! COMMENT: Even Russia has more “professing Christians” than the US.

Beginning in the 1980’s the Episcopal Church pushed acceptance of homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle. COMMENT: They now have ordained practicing homosexuals priests.

Statistics from Barna Research suggest that up to 50% of people who go to a church are not even Christians. COMMENT: It is believed that many go for appearances sake.

In the industrialized world the US has the highest percentage or rate of: divorce*, single-parent families, abortion**, sexually transmitted diseases***, teenage birth, teenage drug use, and the highest rate of incarceration as well as the largest prison population per capita than any country in the world.

*The marriage rate in the United States has fallen to an all-time low of less than 6.8 marriages per 1000 people.

**The number of American babies killed by abortion each year is roughly equal to the total U.S. military deaths from every war the US has ever been involved in – combined! COMMENT: A Department of Homeland Security report (2012) says that if you are “anti-abortion”, you are a potential terrorist.

***The CDC states: Approximately one-third of the entire population of the United States (110 million people) currently has a sexually transmitted disease.

Faith and Science not faith vs science

Thought for the Week

          In a manner of speaking today’s youth tend to have the Missourian attitude of “show me”. Sadly though, few of them need more than the most superficial data for “proof” of things that they have been preconditioned to accept - e.g. the Theory of Evolution. This is because they are indoctrinated in school, from day one, that science is based on fact only and religion is based on belief only. Just as many previous generations of Americans held preconceived notions that have been proven wrong, e.g. they could trust their Government, so too must this generation of youth learn to overcome their preconceived notions.

          Regarding the evolution the debate is not what it first appears. Everyone agrees that microevolution exists – it is observable, testable, and repeatable. It is scientifically proven. Macroevolution is a different story. It is not observable, testable, or repeatable. It is not scientifically proven, or even scientifically provable. Even leading proponents of the Theory of Evolution admit this (See REF 1). The debate primarily concerns a few select areas - evidence and/or the lack thereof, interpretation of the evidence, and a person’s beliefs.

          Remember the youth are not a generation of technologically advanced persons. They are a generation of persons with advanced technology. Many cannot even do basic math without the aid of a machine. Few of them even realize the assumptions made by the “science” they unknowingly worship. Again, a small area concerning evolution can illustrate the point. Many scientists point at bacterial resistance to modern antibiotics as proof of evolution. This makes many assumptions, only one of which is that antibiotic resistance did not exist prior to modern manmade antibiotics. Consider the following:

Scientists at the University of Alberta have revived bacteria from members of the historic Franklin expedition who mysteriously perished in the Arctic nearly 150 years ago. “Not only are the six strains of bacteria almost certainly the oldest ever revived, three of them also happen to be resistant to antibiotics. In this case, the antibiotics clindamycin and cefoxitin, both of which were developed more than a century after the men died, were among those used.

The few pro evolution scientists that have admitted resistance may have already existed are still try to imply resistant bacteria is increasing due to evolution. Consider an analogical scenario:

Environmentalists claimed a locally used unregulated pesticide was impacting elk antler growth in the Yellowstone area. The EPA, always desirous of expanding its authority, agreed and in 2014 an “independent” scientist was hired using government funding to study elk rack size in the Yellowstone area. The scientist found an elk population of 100 elk, half with large racks and half with small racks - a 1 to 1 ratio. In 2015 the scientist again surveyed the Yellowstone area and found an elk population of 75, 25 large rack elk and 50 small rack elk - a 1 to 3 ratio. Hunters had legally taken 25 large rack elk in the same area.

The scientist can now reveal the truth and be out of a job or the scientist can use the ratio to imply the pesticide is potentially causing a decrease in elk rack size which does not exist and thus secure more government funding for further research and keep his job.

At this point the people (the environmentalists) have had their world view validated by the Government, the Government has had their world view validated by science, and the science has been validated by the esteem regaled upon the scientists by the Government and the people. It is a self-perpetuating system that “creates fact out of fiction”.

The US government requires that the Theory of Evolution is taught in schools and bans alternate theories (Intelligent Design, Creationism, etc). Where do you think the funding goes? - To support or debunk evolution.

Some people, no matter what, will always refuse to believe in a Creator. They serve Satan best that deny he exists. Listen closely to most youths and you will be able to tell where they stand, and more importantly, why. Do not waste time on ones that are too close minded to even discuss the available data. If they attempt to support their belief, and it is just that, a belief, then there is always a chance to save them. Remember most have been brainwashed since birth so use logic as well as love or you may lose a golden opportunity.

Comment: Science is not the enemy of faith. In fact, most of the hotly contested scientific theories require an extraordinary amount of faith (as evidenced by the assumptions made). YHWH created all things. We should approach science the way many of the greatest minds in science have - as a means to understand His Creation - rather than as a means to replace Him.

Humans are the only known animal that can cry emotional tears.

The human retina can automatically and instantly change its sensitivity to brightness over a range of ten billion to one - without us thinking about it.

Evolutionary theory is based on random errors (mutations) in the DNA; but, the timeframes typically cited do not allow for non-beneficial mutations. Yet current science says over 80% of human “mutations” are not beneficial (studies indicate that up to 10% of new mutations are harmful, most mutations make no difference, and beneficial mutations are virtually unknown). Also, these timeframes do not include the time needed for the placing of the human body’s 60 trillion cells (& 200 different types) together in the right places - i.e. so that they make the right organs - which all have to interact. NOTE: The most recent “beneficial” mutation I was able to locate information on is lactose tolerance in adults - 10,000 years ago!

The law of the conservation of energy together with Einstein’s equivalence of matter and energy, E = mc², states that the sum total of all energy and all matter in our universe is constant, unchanging, and unchangeable. There is no scientific explanation for the origin of matter and energy, and it is therefore necessary to assume that all the energy must have existed before the supposed Big Bang.
